It’s a the time of the year to think about how we want next year to be different! One of MY resolutions is to write more here and build the community. But I’m curious, for those of you who have been reading this for a while, do you have any fashion related new year’s resolutions? Do you want to look different in the coming year? If so, what would you like to change?
Share your new years resolutions with me!!

Yes, one of my new years resolutions is to wear only skirts and dresses. I live in jeans and trousers, so decided it will help me to make more effort and be more feminine 🙂

Jeanne,
I try to wear skirts about twice a week. A key to a successful resolution here is to invest in some nice, warm, comfy tights. (Assuming you’re somewhere where it is winter, and winter is colder than 60 degrees.) I like the Assets tights from Target: durable, relatively inexpensive, warm and comfortable!

I think I need casual attire. I actually found myself googling “concert attire”, because I don’t know how to look like anything but a lawyer or a biker. Maybe if I go with biker-lawyer it will blend to the point of being appropriate concert attire? I own 1 pair of pants and 1 skirt that is not motorcycle or work appropriate. They are significantly old. 😦 New Year’s resolution – figure out how to look like a law school student by September!

Natalie,
I think concert attire and casual attire are pretty different wardrobes. Concert attire is usually less comfortable, more “identity oriented”. Casual attire on the other hand is a little less meant to convey identity, and usually a combination of comfortable and presentable in multiple circumstances. In your case, to go for “law student”, I might try a toned down version of work clothes. First, two pairs of comfy jeans. This is the impossible quest, I know, but comfy jeans make life worth living. Then a handful of machine washable, warm, soft shirts. (If they could sneak into the office on Friday, bonus!)
I imagine something like this would look good for you:
Sparkly, snug but machine washable
Standard dark jeans
That’s an outfit that would work almost everywhere but the office.
